This is a small group limited to 6 participants of those interested in learning more about the theory and practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Through topical presentation, discussion, video demonstration, case consultation, and role plays participants will become more familiar with the model and skills to using EFT to guide your work as a couple’s therapist. The group is led by Certified EFT therapist Kurt Wical, Ph.D., LMFT. This group can also be counted towards group supervision for the MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. One must register to participate and cost is $220 for the 6 session/12 hour series. If you would like to get on the list for the next group, please email Kurt at email@example.com.
Basic Externship in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy
Typically taking place in the fall in the St Paul area, this four-day intensive is intended to give you the knowledge and basic skills for using EFT with your clients. It is also the first step in becoming certified as an EFT therapist. The 28–hour externship focuses on a review of the theory and practice of EFT as well as the application, demonstration, and practical exercises. This externship is officially offered in conjunction with Dr. Susan Johnson and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). This externship fulfills the initial externship requirement for certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). To view more details about our upcoming Externship, please click here. To register, please click here or contact Robyn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The dates for 2019’s Basic Externship are October 23rd-26th, 2019.
Advanced Core Skills Training
This is advanced training in the practice of EFT and consists of four 2-day sessions spread out over the course of a year. Cost is $395 per each 2-day session. One must have completed the Basic Externship to participate. A new group forms in the fall each year to meet at the MN Couple Therapy Center in Roseville, MN. If you are interested in this training and want to register, or if you have any questions, please email Kurt at email@example.com.
Meeting with an EFT Consultant is a valuable step in the process of learning EFT. If you are interested in becoming certified in EFT, you will need at least 8 hours of individual supervision with an EFT Supervisor or Supervisor-in-Training.
